Advocate Project

I am advocating against the usage of Paraben's in cosmetic products. Women who use cosmetic products on a daily basis do not realize how many dangerous toxins are in those products that can cause life-threatening diseases. Paraben is a type of preservative that is found in 90% of all cosmetic products. Research shows that Paraben's can be known as endocrine disruptors. This means that they can mess up your internal glands, that are responsible for many tasks to keep the body running perfectly. They can also increase the chance of getting breast cancer and male fertility. My audience is teen girls, and women in their 20's and 30's, mostly. I would like them to be aware of what chemicals are put into these cosmetic products, that people may think to be harmless. These products are applied directly onto the skin, and can easily get into the body through the pores on our face. Luckily, there are many companies now that make products that do not have these toxins in them. I will be making a PowerPoint presentation for my project to show pictures, along with facts, to interest all people and help them understand and change for their well being.
